Awards

Awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers in each event.  The top three male and female in the 100M, 100K and 50M race will receive a hand-painted buffalo skull (yes, from a real buffalo, which, to the best of our knowledge, died of natural causes).

Age group awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group in ten year increments (e.g. 20-29, 30-39, etc.).

We do not double-dip on awards – runners receiving an award for a top 3 overall finish will not be eligible for age group awards.

Every runner who finishes the 100 mile race within the 32 hour time limit will receive a belt buckle.  Runners finishing in under 24 hours will receive a silver buckle with a gold buffalo skull.  Runners finishing between 24 and 32 hours will receive a silver buckle with a bronze buffalo skull.  A photo of the prototype buckle can be seen in the sponsor scroll on the right side of this page. The final design may differ slightly.

All runners who finish the 50M and 100K races within the time limits will receive a distinctive finisher’s medal designed to resemble the official trail markers seen along the Centennial Trail.

Recognizing that runners of different distances may be leaving town at different times, we will have a total of three awards ceremonies.  The first will be held at 8:00 PM on Saturday to present the top overall awards for the 5oM and 100K.  The second will be at 9:00 AM on Sunday to present awards to the overall winners of the 100M and to present buckles to the sub-24 finishers.  The final awards ceremony will be at 2:30 PM on Sunday to present buckles to the sub-32 finishers.  Age group awards will be presented at each of these ceremonies as the results are finalized.  If your travel plans require that you leave town before one of the scheduled ceremonies, you are welcome to collect your award at any time.  Finisher medals for the 50M and 100K will be presented as runners cross the finish line.  All three of the awards ceremonies will be held at Woodle Field.

All runners will receive a goody bag when they check-in containing samples from our sponsors, their bib number and a t-shirt.
